SCRIPTURE FOR STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT

It was the power of the  Holy Spirit that set me free and He used the truth to do it.
When God taught me about the Authority He had giving me to have the power to walk in self-control.
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

John 8:32 promises; "and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."

I believe the truth set me free from bondage to gluttony. John 17:17 says; "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." And my truth was that I was not walking in the spirit of self-control, I was allowing my flesh to rule over me. I had got into agreement with the enemy, that I was lonely and needed a crutch.

When the seeds of truth were planted in my spirit the fruit of holiness began to form in my life. I repented that in disobedience I open the gateway for the enemy to come into my life. That I did not trust and depend on God for everything I needed.

GOD GRANTED ME DELIVERANCE FROM GLUTTONY:
1. When I realized that victory was humanly impossible. "without me ye can do nothing…" (John 15:5)

2. When I acknowledged that my gluttony was idolatry. I saw that I was trying to find soul satisfaction in food
that only God can give. I began to acknowledge that my delight was in food rather in the One who gave me the food.
I began to delight myself in the Lord. (Psalm 37:4)

3. When I began to "walk in the light." In other words I was honest about my sin. Proverbs 28:13 says; "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Walking
in the light is being honest and confessing the hold food has on my soul. Walking in the light is being honest
about how often and how much food I am eating. Walking in the light is submitting to open accountability to others for what I am eating every meal, every day.

For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
